SIGN-UP FOR SUMMER ALTAR FLOWERS begins on Memorial Day weekend; flowers are needed for Sundays in June through September. A clipboard with sign-up sheets may be found Sundays at coffee hour (suspended during the pandemic) or on the small shelf in the narthex where you exit Mass. Two arrangements of a substantial size are needed for the high altar (as seen above); you may sign up for one or a pair of smaller arrangements for the Marian altar; or both. Flowers may be purchased or from your own garden; you may take them home with you after Mass.
Choose any available dates appropriate for family anniversaries or other significant occasions. Please indicate whether you are providing flowers for the high altar; Marian altar; or both. Please avoid duplication and the filling of untaken Sundays — even if not a significant date — will be appreciated.
You may bring your own vases; there are also vases belonging to Saint Lawrence church in the sacristy. Saint Gregory the Great owns three pairs of vases which you can arrange to use by contacting Kevin McDermott at least a week in advance of your Sunday. If you will be arranging your flowers at church before Mass please remember to leave sufficient time to do so before Mass begins.
