Ministries

There are many opportunities to serve at St Gregory the Great church.

Liturgical Ministries

The Liturgical Ministry of Saint Gregory the Great Church is comprised of many ministries, each offering a different possibility for serving God and his Church in our worship.  These can be both during Mass (Acolytes; Lectors; Musicians) as well as before and after Mass (Altar Guild; Flower Guild; Fellowship and Hospitality).  Nothing is required except a desire to worship in action as well as prayer – if the Spirit moves you, you are willing to learn, and are determined to faithfully offer only your best to the Lord – you are almost sure to find a role which will suit your interests and talents: no previous experience is required.  Come join us in worshiping God in the Beauty of Holiness and the Power of the Spirit!

Evangelization and Faith Formation

Saint Gregory the Great Church embraces the urgent call of Pope Paul VI in his 1975 encyclical Evangelii Nuntiandi: “Lay people, whose particular vocation places them in the midst of the world and in charge of the most varied temporal tasks, must…put to use every Christian and evangelical possibility latent but already present and active in the affairs of the world.” At Saint Gregory the Great evangelization is a primary goal: we seek to engage families, individuals, college students, and youth with vital, creative programs which offer inner transformation and an encounter with the Living God. Our program of evangelization is twofold — directed first to the community of believers, then to the world itself, which desperately needs the hope only the Gospel can provide. Come, join us in this mission! — there’s room for all to participate, learn and grow.

Prayer and Healing Ministry

Our Father’s desire is to see His people healthy and whole. The Prayer and Healing Ministry of Saint Gregory the Great Church seeks, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to bring the fullness of healing ministry into the Church in a distinctly Catholic form. We follow in the footsteps and utilize the methods of other Catholics who have served the Church in this way, especially Francis and Judith McNutt (of Christian Healing Ministries) and Neal and Janet Lozano (Resisting the Devil — A Catholic Perspective on Deliverance). The members of this ministry are lovingly accountable to one another. If you have a Servant’s Heart, a teachable Spirit, and feel you are called to this ministry we invite you to contact us and join our team — the harvest is great, and the laborers few!
